Hi Guys
I have a 96 spi that will not idle. it got a new temp sensor and throttle body. I have checked all connections, pins, wiring and sensor readings. it starts ok, revs fine no misfires or bangs. just wont idle. I would be grateful for any ideas on this.

i had similar problem with my 95 spi. one of the vaccum pipes from the air filter was broke.

Cheak the hoses around the airfilter and throttle body and also the pipe to the servo. The servo pipe is a push fit and a little greese around the end can help it seal better.

same here with my '93... hose elbow join from manifold to air cleaner was broken, couldn't get a spare anyplace so stole one off the "project" car.

Thanks to all for your help tryed all that has been passed on. found a few things that could be the cause not to sure. next step does anyone know where I can get the diagnostic codes read out of the engine management. Is there a code checking tool that can be bought from some tool supliers. eg snap on, sealey or ????

I happened to be flicking through an Argos catalogue yesterday and they have an RAC reader. Don't know if it works on Minis though
