Re: IMM2008 Photos
This little gem taken by TMG has hidden away in the Members Only section of this forum for too long. It was taken on the last day of the IMM before we all left the site. Driving on a banked track is not that easy but maybe my neighbour's Ford Galaxy roofbox was just a little tooooo heavy.

Got an email this evening from the Dutch Mini People,
PRESS RELEASE
New record of longest parade of Minis confirmed by Guiness World Records
On Sunday the 11th of May 2008 the Dutch Mini People Foundation
attempted to break the Guinness World Record of the largest parade of
Minis. A total of 884 Minis took part in this record attempt in
Lelystad, the Netherlands. Recently we recieved the official statement
of Guinness that we succesfully beated the old record of 273 Minis.
During the International Mini Meeting, which took place from the 9th
until the 12th of May 2008 in the Netherlands, we attempted to break
the Guinness World Record of longest parade of Minis.
On the 11th of May 2008 the goal was to break the old record of 273
Minis over a distance of at least 3,2 km. The notary counted 884 Minis
from over 15 countries which took part in this P&O Ferries Mini World
Record Attempt. Afterwards we sent the information to Guinness and
recently we received the official confirmation that we are the owners
of the new record of longest parade of Minis.
The Dutch Mini People Foundation would like to thank everybody
involved in breaking the old record and especially P&O Ferries, Het
Notarieel, the complete IMM 2008 record attempt team and their
coordinator Richard Faas.

Should the Mokes really count ???
And I said, Officer, I didn't want to be drunk in public...I wanna be drunk in the bar. Now last time I checked it was still legal to be drunk in the bar. They threw me into public...arrest them!

Re: IMM2008 Photos
The funniest thing was that the organisers placed a square paper sheet under each Mini but not under the Binis. Because Lelystad is a test track, they couldn't have the embankment with oil drops all over it. I have just some paper squares for my garage floor!

Re: IMM2008 Photos
The January edition of Classic & Sportscar has a paragraph on the World Record.
Also, in recognition of Mini 50 they have several Mini-related articles in this issue.
