Eastern Regions November run
The eastern region will be holding it,s next meeting in the Clonsilla Inn on the 9th of November at 12.30 and afterwards a short run over the hills through Naul will see us stopping at the newly opened Office of Public Works "Battle of the Boyne, vistor centre" in Oldbridge just outside Drogheda.Admission fee is €3.70 but with groups of 10 or more it is €2.60 and a guide will accompany groups.Under 6 are free and older children are €1.30.I will be booking us in as a group for around 2pm.The website is http://www.battleoftheboyne.ie for anyone looking for more information.Make sure those cars are clean because there is some great photo opportunities leading up to the old house.

Re: Eastern Regions November run
I,d like to thank everyone who took the time, effort and trouble to come along to The Battle of the Boyne run today. It was a great success and the weather though cold stayed dry for the run over the north Dublin hills which was a nice choice of road that was practically empty and purpose made for the dozen or so minis that made up the convoy. As with what has become a regular feature of these runs the meetings that proceed the runs seems to be getting bigger and better with more members attending with or without a mini so keep up the good work,it,s yer club and what you put in is what you get out.A big hello to all the first timers including Harry who dragged himself out of his sick bed to get to the end of the run.Plenty of inspections of his clubman in Oldbridge. Also thanks to Billy for coming up from Cork to see how things are done in the Eastern Region. Here are a few pictures from today.
The start at the Clonsilla Inn.
Open twisty roads made for minis.
Entrance to the Battle of the Boyne
Time to get everone in line for the photos.
El Presidente looking for divine inspiration.
Out come the big guns.
Although Billy was on the run and was looking for a 99,over in the east we prefer a nice Mocca.
Harrys clubman causing a stir.

Re: Eastern Regions November run
It was a good run. We didn't stop until we arrived at the Battle of the Boyne site, which meant that it was the longest Billy ever stayed in a seat without getting the chance to jump out.

Re: Eastern Regions November run
While the brekkie at Woodys was lovely and the dinner at KMG's was "handsome", the feed of abuse I had to put up at the meeting was unreal. Once upon a time it was certain Corkonians who were constantly whinging about the Dubs. Yesterday the Dubs got their own back!!!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Eastern Regions November run
Yep, it was a good run and a great turnout at the meeting beforehand. We definitely need a bigger meeting room going forward because there is evidence that the Sunday meeting/run format is proving to be more popular as the months go on. The other thing that struck me was the amount of new members who turned up. It certainly wasn't a case of the same old faces with the same old Minis. Good to see Drogheda local Harry Harrison back as a club member after so long away.
Well done to all involved. And don't worry about the slagging. Just keep me fed and I'm happy.

Re: Eastern Regions November run
Another great turnout and like Billy says great to see different cars each month (I'll have to get the second car ready soon). It was a good chance to chat with the other drivers at the end of the run too.Hope Aidan gives me more notice next time I'm leading a run.
