Welcome to the Irish Mini Owners Club forum. Celebrating 30 years of the Irish Mini Owners Club, 60 years of the Mini, 50 years of the Clubman and 20 years of our flagship event MTM
Hello from the western region IMOC
We are having a mini run this Sunday 12th Oct, led by member Paraic Moran called "The Quiet Man Run" visiting Cong & Ashford Castle and many scenic areas in Mayo.
All interested Meet at the Quality Inn Hotel now the Maldron Hotel Oranmore at 11.30 am and at Thradeing Post near Headford at 12 noon, or call me on 087 2485404 or Peter Mooney on 087 2724834 or Paraic Moran on 0872821439.
Bring your camera.
Cheers.
Delighted to see the WR using the forum to publicise local events. Unfortunately due to B&B and childminding duties (with herself away on a girlie weekend), I won't make this or the Eastern Region Wicklow Run this coming Sunday.
Hope it all goes well and that you and other participants post loads of photos here on the forum afterwards. WR has been noticeable in its absence on this forum (apart from several Shannonside contributors) so hopefully this is the start of a positive trend.
i went along to the western region run today and it was a great turn out.
the weather was mighty and we even had some sun shine.
their was eight minis and we started off at the tradeing post petrol station in headford,
then we went ahead on to ashford castle and even got a tour of inside
thanks ta one of the crew knowing the porter.
after that we toured on the sience route of mayo with some fantastic views.
we stopped for the feed at maire lukes bar and headed on our journey back ta headford.
i would just like ta thank the lads for agreat day out and will look forward ta the next meet

i am a fecking disaster when it comes ta names and cant remember the names of the two lads that owened the clubmans but someone else on the forum might be able ta help me out the orange one {1979} has been in that mans family about 14 years he tells me and his dad bought it for 150 and he restored it about 5 years back. the beige one is a 1978 and the both lads are western club members
i heard one of the lads say that the third photo above was the route that the galway rally took back in 1994.
tom with the green mini had a small hick up when his two exhaust brackets broke.
but we managed ta butcher it back together. he may need ta change it for the nct
