Are there any places in Ireland that do the rolling road or have any Irish clubs ever organised this?
Also, i was looking at fitting a Stage 1 kit to my 1275 carb sprite, would it be worth it or would i have to splash out more money to make it wothwhile?

Re: Rolling Road and tuning
There are one a few RR in the South and a few in the North, but I have never had any dealings with any of them.
The Club has never had a Rolling Road Day although one of the Mini Clubs in Northern Ireland did run one a few years back.
Stage 1 kits usually consist of a larger exhaust, improved inlet manifold, uprated air filter and an alternative carb needle. All of which add to the HP of the engine, provided the rest of the engine and the car are in good condition you should notice a difference.
No need to spend more on it if you don't wish to. But you should consider a brake overhaul at the same time, in the interest of safety.

Re: Rolling Road and tuning
Would anyone be interested in a rolling road day?
I think mine could do with a tune. Running a bit rich sometimes.
Would also like to see what HP its making?

Re: Rolling Road and tuning
There was an item in the Forum in July 2006 about this. The gist was that there was Martin Treacy in Enfield who had a rolling road and did LOADS of racing Minis etc.
I would be on for a rolling road day, my car is too rich on part throttle, but we would need to go where the operator was SU enabled, with a supply of carb needles to set the fuelling mixture up. From the mini magazines it seems thatthere are places in Northern Ireland who meet the criteria, do we have any contacts in NI who could point us in the right direction.

Re: Rolling Road and tuning
Rolling Road days only do DYNO runs for the car, they do not tune the car.
You would get a power reading of your engine output, and they may advise you on how best to improve or sort your engine, but that is all. You would need to book a private session for tuning work to be done.
