Just after fitting straight-cut drop gears from mini sport, after fitting new clutch found that it would not work properly because the splines on the gears were not the correct profile
,3 hours work with valve grinding paste and new disc, just to get it to move freely.Beware of MINI SPORT drop gears, buy KAD!

So is it a problem with the clutch disc going onto the primary gear ?
Do you have the old helical primary gear, does the clutch disc fit on it correctly ?

If the disc is free on the splines, then you need to check the pressure plate or flywheel assembly.
Any pics of it as it is now ?

Think I have it sorted, the bush on the top drop gear is the wrong size 2.5 mm bigger than the original bush, moving around on the shaft, cant believe I missed it.
