And I said, Officer, I didn't want to be drunk in public...I wanna be drunk in the bar. Now last time I checked it was still legal to be drunk in the bar. They threw me into public...arrest them!

Re: Limerick Run - Sunday September 21st
Welcome Dean.
I've been asked to give directions to the South Court Hotel so here goes:
From Ennis, follow signs around Limerick for Cork/Tralee and at the Raheen roundabout, the hotel is on the right.
From the south, follow signs for Shannon/Ennis/Galway, past a petrol station and car sales places on the left, come to a roundabout and the hotel is on your left.
Call me at 087-4195640 if you get lost,
Billy

Re: Limerick Run - Sunday September 21st
Despite Johnny Murphy moving house, Pat the Baker at the match, KMG crying at the result, Dick Mason on holidays, we still got 10 Minis out this morning for the Midwest Run.
For several new members it was their first time out and a chance to meet fellow members. We had Minis from Mayo (Shane), Galway (Pete & Adrian), Clare (John & Ita, Dean), Limerick (Pat, Darren, & Jim), Cork (me), and Waterford (Dave). The furthest travelled was Shane from Castlebar and the most unusual was Dean's Jap-spec Mini though everyone commented on Jim Dawson's Zeemax Mini both from the outside and the leather interior inside.
The weather was definitely on our side cos once the morning fog lifted, it was a cracker of a day for our 100-mile round trip.
Local man Pat Hanley kicked off the first part of the day by giving us a guided tour of Limerick City (no smart remarks, I was born there!) along the quays with the contrast of all the new developments and the King John's Castle. We stopped for fuel at Chawkes and Adrian had a pizza to keep him going till the spuds. From there Jim Dawson brought us out by his home town of Cappamore and he diverted at Doon to take part in a local vintage show. Unfortunately everyone bar myself followed Jim and had to do a u-turn. From there we went through Cappawhite and about 2 miles after that took a right on the R497 for Donohill, a brilliant twisty road.
On then into Tipp town and up over the Glen of Aherlow and we then stopped at the layby at the top.
Our lunch stop was the Hunters Rest in Mitchelstown where Roast Beef was the order of the day. From there we headed off the N72 towards Mallow and made a right towards Knockanevin and on to Kilfinane.
We had agreed that we would stop for a final cuppa before everyone went their separate ways and so we pulled into Bulgaden Castle near Kilmallock.
Overall a very successful day and well done to those that made the effort to turn up.

T'was a great run.....the weather was amazing and the turnout was good. Some nice Minis showed up on the day too. And thanks to an Orange Clubbies loud exhaust note I completely forgot about the gaping hole in my exhaust
Thanks to all for a great, fun and safe run and special thanks to Billy for organising it

Re: Limerick Run - Sunday September 21st
Lads I’m so annoyed that I missed it. What will it take to get out on a run….
I ended up having to travel to Dublin on work commitments.
It looks like everyone had an amazing time….
I’ll make it some day… Well done to all that organised and made it happen!
