Hi All,
I don’t know if anyone else out there is thinking of importing a car from the UK and in case they weren't aware of it, the new VRT rules that come into effect on July 1st will effect pre-registered cars from the UK as well as new ones and it will be up to the individual importing the car to prove the CO2 emissions of the car.
On that note, does anyone have any official CO2 emissions figures for a MPI mini; I have been on various websites and found figures ranging from 138g/Km to 164g/km. Can anyone help?
Thanks,
Dave T.

Re: CO2 Emissions for MPI Mini?
I don't have the numbers, but i'm thinking the mini's not that clean burning, even with EFI. If you cant supply figures that will satisfy Rev€nue then they asses the category at the highest CO2 amount, which is 36% of OMSP, with a minimum VRT of €720
It's unclear from Rev€nue what documentation will satisfy them, if the "official" CO2 figures are not available.
On another note, i don't see a "vintage", "veteran" or "classic" category in the new regulations, unlike before 1st July where if the car is +30 years old the VRT is a flat €50
