Mondello Classic Car Show - June 22nd
This is the classic car show which is being organised with Irish Vintage Scene. Are we entered as a club for this show? Is this an ER gig? MiniResource have registered for it and are being issued with vouchers for track time. I assume we should be doing the same.

I,m going to this.We should try and get as many out for this as Irish vintage scene has been very good to us in the past and this is a way to repay the kindness.

Re: Mondello Classic Car Show - June 22nd
Tom Heavey, the editor of Irish Vintage Scene, rang me this morning to enquire if we were taking part. He was aware that Minis were entered but he couldn't confirm if it was us or MR. It seems there are already 800 cars entered so if we want an IMOC stand with banner etc, we would want to contact Mondello pronto to confirm our presence.
If we don't want to bother with an IMOC stand, then I'm happy to go in with the MR lads (thanks Maxi).

Re: Mondello Classic Car Show - June 22nd
I have been in contact with Mondello and a stand for 15 cars has been reserved for the club. However if we need more this can be arranged.According to Mondello this is a CLASSIC show for cars up 78/79 only, however they will allow minis up to the mid 80,s but she said that no modern minis would be allowed. We will be meeting at the Applegreen filling station on the N7 on Sunday the 22nd of June between 9 and 9.30 as all cars are to be on site for 10.15.I will hand out the entry tickets to all those who are at the meeting point.Anyone who is interested in coming can contact me on 087 2309324.Texts to members will be sent tomorrow.I would ask any member who is in a position to attend to make the effort as this show promises to be huge with over 800 cars signed up.Mosney had 1157 last week so it,s nearly as big so get the minis out.

Re: Mondello Classic Car Show - June 22nd
I checked this with Mondello yesterday and she said that this was a classic car show so the 30 year rule for classics was being applied but that they would allow minis up to 85 in.Anyone who wishes to check this for themselves can ring Mondello on045 860200 and ask to speak with Jenny Farrell.

Re: Mondello Classic Car Show - June 22nd
Just to let everyone know that I received the passes for this event today and they have to be fixed to the windscreen before arriving at the gate so if those who are going could make an effort to be at the afore mentioned meeting place I will hand out the passes.

Re: Mondello Classic Car Show - June 22nd
Brilliant day out in Mondello this afternoon and well done to those of the Eastern Region who braved the elements i.e. sunshine!!!!!!!!!!! Adrian Cusack came from Galway despite the floods, Eamon Foley came from Waterford in that grand Hornet, and I made the trip all the way from Ballyhooly.
Great dices on the track between Minis, Marcos, Lotuses Elans, Porsche 911s etc. The vintage stuff was great fun with makes like Frazer Nash, Bugatti, Lagonda, and other extinct marques battling it out. Definitely got me thinking....
There were loads of Minis in the crowd, most of which I'd never seen before. The serious petrolheads from MiniResource had their own pit garage for their racing Minis which was very friendly and I met a few of the lads there, Maxi, Stuart, Conor, Mark and others.
Took loads of photos which I'll download tomorrow.

Re: Mondello Classic Car Show - June 22nd
Here are a few pictures from Mondello Today.Although the show was down in expected numbers, considering the weather this morning it turned out to be a great day with great racing. It can only get better and unlike other car shows, this was a classic car show which meant old tin everywhere.
This is not our glorious leaders Marcos but he has said it WILL be there next year.
And ye all thought only one man was brave enough to paint a car that colour.
