Check your handbrake and make sure that the back drums are adjusted correctly, Check for play in the ball joints and the trackrod ends, ensure the trye pressures are correct and that all the bulbs are working, it might be worth getting a local garage to check your headlight alignment and your emmisions .
Now is a good time to give the underside of the car a good steam wash and regrease all the grease points on the car, while working under the car, check the CV boots for splits or holes.
Hope this helps

Re: nct for archie
Give it a good run on the way to the NCT centre so that the engine is fully up to temperature

Re: nct for archie
Ditto as the lads say above but as someone who has to NCT 3 vintage cars every 12 months including one which is 58 years old, the NCT is nothing to be afraid of. If you fail, at least you know you just have to sort the failure points. There are so many things which can go wrong on a Mini, you'll rarely ever have them all 100%.
Give it a good clean beforehand and have the engine well warmed up by the time you get to the test centre. If it passes, brilliant. If it doesn't, it's not the end of the world.
Billy (who is bringing that 58-year-old car for its re-test on Tuesday)
