I've had my mobile number for years on my website carzone autotrader the side of vans forums like this and other places. I never turn off my phone at night and I've never really had any problems. In fact I enjoy the odd pizza and chips at 3 am. 
But at the same time I could understand how somebody might not like it. In which case pm one of the committee to ask them to bring it up at the next meeting like has already been offered.
