I have stupid question i should know but never tried it can you change the crankshaft pulley to one with timing marks an engine in have has the marks on the flywheel cover but trying to set timing a bit of a pain thanks

simple answer is yes the pulley is a straight swap. The hard part is the timing marks. The move to the pully marks came with the introduction of tha A+ engine. To fit the A+ timing chain cover with the marks you need to change the engine end plate which requires removing the timing gears. Fitting the A+ timing cover means you also get the chain tensioner. Alternatively you could add a marking system to your existing cover and using the marks on the flywheel make corresponding marks at the pulley end.

Thanks woody I have an old engine with them bits on it and new timing gears and chain
