Re: Fitting Glass.

Most of the car glass companies have mobile fitting services, weather they have the correct tool to insert the chrome strip is the question. Minifix may do it for you.

Re: 1983 Mini City

If the ball joints are brand new its better to set them on the tight side as they will initially wear quickly to a matching set. Remember to set the bottom one without the spring before final assembly with the spring. Are you running spacers on the front wheels?

Re: 1983 Mini City

A great milestone reached, that body is as good as new, fair play to you.
Make sure your painter understands that its not a modern galvanized body and to maximize anti rust protection. Unfortunately it is a mini and will start rusting again as soon as its painted.

Re: 1981 Mini City 1000

Clean up the inside so you can get a good seal of paint on it. Doors tend to rust from the inside out. Great work your doing.

Re: Fog light switch for headlights

No its a different type of switch internally and sure the light wouldn't be much brighter than the dash lights that would also be on.
I have a buzzer that operates if you open a door with the lights on. Get a 12volt buzzer and connect the + to the side lights and - to the door switch.

Re: 1983 Mini City

Great work done there. Usually its second gear that takes the most abuse so if the syncro and balkring good there its a good sign. The Videos are good and also the early Haynes manuals have a good chapter on gearboxes.

Re: Brexit.part import

I assume the €330 included a delivery charge that Minispares pay a courier to deliver the goods to you so why is the Multiline Clearance not included in that.
What is Payment Deferment Risk and who is that being paid to?

There was some leeway being given on paperwork but now has to be 100% or the goods are being stopped or even returned.

Re: Crank pulley

simple answer is yes the pulley is a straight swap. The hard part is the timing marks. The move to the pully marks came with the introduction of tha A+ engine. To fit the A+ timing chain cover with the marks you need to change the engine end plate which requires removing the timing gears. Fitting th...

Re: Brexit.part import

If the wheel and tyre are manufactured in the UK there should be no duty and the retailer needs to specify this on the import documents. If any of the items are imported into the UK and than exported there is Duty. You need to ask Minisport.

Re: Help, minis for sale

I don't know either car but looking at the few photos I would think you would be putting at least another €6000 into either of them. Minifix have done plenty of MPis at this stage and should be able to give you a ballpark figure . First car was last NCT'ed 13 years ago when it was only 10 years old....

Re: Thinking about buying this Mini

Hi welcome to the forum. I don't know how much you know about minis and I'm not familiar with this car although it does carry club stickers so I'll just point out some basics. Although badged as a cooper it is not being advertised as a cooper so it is probably just cosmetic, without pictures of the ...
