Re: Rolling road day??
If you want to know what you have to do to get more power, then get yourself a copy of "Tuning BL's A Series Engine" by David Vizard. (The newest edition is the 3rd edition and is just called "Tuning the A Series Engine") It was originally written 30 years ago but the latest edit...

Totally agree with Killian; Joe and Laurna did sterling work over the weekend, hat's off to them both. They have set the benchmark we all should be striving for as IMM2017 Crew.

Re: 1.5 roller rockers are they worth fitting with a stage 1
It's 22 years since I got any engine work done so can't help you with current prices.
I went down the route of getting a 1380 engine from MED in the UK, it's still going grand when it gets out.

They are all just standard castings.
You can get alloy versions though in 5, 7 and 8 port configuration. Then you are on to twin cam heads.

Re: A few figures for IMM 2016 in Belgium
If going through France you have to factor in the autoroute toll charges of around €40 each way. Avoiding the motorways in France is possible but much slower as we have discovered many times. You also have to consider the time you actually spend on the ship. From Roslare to France direct, you will b...

Re: A few figures for IMM 2016 in Belgium
If you are flying then Aer Lingus has 3 flights a day to Brussels with fares around €150 per person. It's about 110km to the IMM from there. Car rental for 5 days should be around €160, minimum age for rental is usually 23 years old but drivers under 25 sometimes attract a premium charge. Ryanair fl...

Re: 1.5 roller rockers are they worth fitting with a stage 1
If you are looking for power then you need to be able to time the cam correctly, every little bit of hp helps. Standard cams are little more than pips on a gerkin, and never going to produce anything in the way of power, the MG Metro cam is probably the best standard cam. I'm a bit old school so wou...

Re: 1.5 roller rockers are they worth fitting with a stage 1
Probably a waste of time fitting 1.5 rockers on an old worn cam to be honest. You'd be better served by fitting a new cam while the head is away getting the work done, fit an adjustable timing chain and new cam followers while you are at it .
