I always thought that the Washing up liquid and lots of water (keep the decals/stripes wet ) lets you position the stripes and they won't budge when they dry out. One problem is that they can move very easily when they are wet and if they are heavy and going onto a vertical surface (doors and sides)...

Although the Consituition has evolved slowly over the number of years and AGMs, it was mainly the work of John Lancaster over the last two years that has brought it to its current format.
