Re: Seen a Mini?

That Mini belonged to a friend of mine in Cork. He fitted an upgraded Metro turbo set-up into it for his daughter. She thought it was too fast so they sold it.

Re: Problems Starting mk3

Re clutch: once you've got car running, turn off engine then put it into first. Keep your foot on the clutch. Turn on ignition. The car will jump forward but keep that foot on the clutch. Usually the clutch will free after a bit. Don't attempt any of this without working brakes and plenty of outdoor...

Re: Clubman Estate Barn Find - Co. Galway

The Mpi injection system is very easy to work with once you realise that the 13 or so wiring connectors and pipes can only fit one way. Stripping out the original injection system and fitting the upgraded one is very straightforward. Thankfully it started with the first turn of the key and I got to ...

Re: Clubman Estate Barn Find - Co. Galway

Picked up a 52mm Burlen throttle body and a ported inlet manifold recently on eBay. I had already fitted a big valve head so it made sense to improve the breathing.

Even easier. Just cross the two positive & negative on the solenoid itself with a screwdriver.

I usually fit a push button solenoid to my minis.

Re: Sad News

Dick was one of the earliest members of the Southern Region when we set it up in the late 90s. His maroon Mk1 was a regular sight at IMOC events including the very first MTM back in '99. I'll never forget chasing behind Dick and Anne to catch a ferry in Holyhead after the IMM in Birmingham. Flat out...

Re: Anyone a link to putting in an mpi engine to older car

As I had mentioned to you, JP, Andy McPhail's red woody estate was the inspiration for my Clubby Mpi conversion. His car project featured in MiniWorld years ago. Joe Whyte and I both placed the rad in the front of the engine using the original MPi subframe as it has a bottom bracket for the rad but ...

MTM2019 - One for the Star Wars fans

For anyone doing Mizen to Malin this year, the road to Malin has been changed from the R242 to the R2D2 as scenes from Star Wars were shot there:

Re: Eastern region bog run

Great run yesterday. 10 Minis turned out in total. The roads were atrocious, the directions were useless but the craic, the company, and the weather were great. The concensus was that the roads used yesterday should never be used on an IMOC event ever again!!! Lough Boora was excellent and has expan...
