Re: Mini Headliner
In my youth (just a shame it was so long ago!) I fitted a couple of screens, but one fateful day, crack went a front screen. So from then, I would take screens out, and get a fitter to put them back in, far better and easier. They make it look so easy, and they have all the correct tools, it's just ...

Re: Mini Headliner
You will need to remove your front and rear screens, you don't need to break them. You remove the beading that sits in the middle of the rubbers, both front and back. Re: Thinking about buying this Mini
Although proportionate, the mileage is high. I would expect a Mini with that mileage to have had some work done over it's lifetime. Re: Irish Built Mini History and Research
With regards to Mini vans and estates Way back in the late 60,s, if you bought a Mini van, without rear windows, you paid less tax in the UK on a new van, it was classed as commercial, not private use. If it had windows, you paid more tax on purchase, the normal going rate. If you bought a Mini van ...

Re: Irish Built Mini History and Research
VIN, Third Position (“2S” in the above example): = Body type 2S = 2-door saloon/sedan. (Except Mk III Copper S and 1275GT) Caution: bureaucratic bungles often interpret this as 25 (twenty-five) 2W = Estate (“2 Door Dual Purpose”) D = 2 door saloon (Mk III Cooper S and 1275GT only) U = Pick-up. Cauti...

They indeed use a 5/16 UNF nut and bolt. The part number for the bolt is GFK5184 for your year of Mini.

If you look at the Government ie website for import duty charges on goods over 150 euro, they can be a little eye watering.
Additionally, different items attract different VAT rates

Re: Average cost of a late 70s early 80s Original Irish Mini?
Hi Brian Only just joined up after moving here to Co Mayo. The answer I think is how well a Mini has been looked after and what someone may have spent towards the upkeep. There is not really any specific price - just what people are looking for. I have noticed people seem to put their own asking pri...
