Re: Rolling road and tuning
Sorry thanks for replying I’m away in Spain. I’ve ordered an rc40 exhaust and needle for the hif38, so if I get a 44 over the next while all I have to do is get a new needle. McNamara’s in Dublin are going to have a look at my carb to make sure it’s in decent nick and tune it with the new exhaust i...

Gentleman in clondalkin that keeps minis
Hi guys I was talking to a client a few days ago that has a mini also and told me she got talking to a nice man that keeps minis and lives in the Clondalkin area, I was wondering if anyone knew who he was so maybe he could have a look at my car and share his expertise. Thanks a million. Tom

Re: Rolling road and tuning
Have you any idea where I’d get a hif 44 that isn’t mental money? I think the manifold is on the way out in my car that’s why I’m ordering the stage 1 as I wanted to do it in the future anyway and I’ll have to tune the carb when the new needle goes into it

Rolling road and tuning
Hi guys I’m ordering a new stage one kit for my 1275 and I’m wondering is there anywhere in the Dublin area with a rolling road that can fine tune it after I’ve installed the exhaust and new needle into my hif 38? Also if I decide to change my engine in the next few years it’s auto at the moment and...

Overhaul su hif44 carb
Hi guys. Is it possible to get an overhaul kit in a good parts dealership or would I have to go to the likes of mini spares. Also is it something that your average joe would be able to take on or seek professional help, thanks. I revved it the other day and it died, it struggles to turn over now and...

Re: Finding tdc
Ok thanks I’ll put a picture up tomorrow it’s parked in the fire station at the moment. It’s registered as a 998 but it’s an orange engine and I looked up the plate on the engine and it says it’s a 1275

Re: Finding tdc
Hi so the marks are on the wheel and not on the belt? The engine starts now that I’ve changed the distributor but I won’t drive it until it’s timed properly

Finding tdc
Hi guys I fit a new electric dizzy and ballast coil to my 1275 engine, I’m not sure if it is at Tdc at the moment is there any quick way of finding out if it is or setting it to Tdc that I could do at home? Or would it cause a lot of damage to try turn it over as it is at the moment so long as it is...
