Re: CLASSIC INSURANCE

I'm with Barrett Private Insurance and can't recommend them highly enough. Have had 2 Minis, a van, and 3 cars insured all on the same policy and for a much better price than anywhere else. Max is the guy who looks after me and is great to deal with. Haven't heard of them before. Anymore details? P...

I've a pair of standard front seats from an 85 Mayfair if you want them. They might need a scrub.

Re: Electric Mini Conversion

I don't have a lathe but my comment was not intended to be abusive I was admiring yours. As an engineer with an interest in these things I was asking how long the frame was, chuck diameter distance between centres that sort of thing.

Re: Vtec Clubman Help

Noone will give you dimensions. You'll have to custom make the frame to suit your car on the day. There are reams of pages of examples out there but not a measuring tape anywhere. You can use standard mini suspension running gear, mgf Honda whatever you want really depending on skill and budget and ...

Re: Vtec Clubman Help

It’s clubman, so no extended front needed, and I think watsons full subframe kit @ sixteen hundred quid is quite a good deal. It is but personally I would rather keep the mini track width. I helped a friend put a watsons frame into his round nose and while a good kit it still needed fettling to fit...

Re: Vtec Clubman Help

In fairness that dvd explains nothing. I bought it too. That's based on the watsons kit which needs an extended front a metro frame and increases your track width. Get yourself over to the 16v mini club website and start reading the Honda build section. When you work out your budget, double it and y...

Re: Insurance policy, massive increase

Try autoline up north. I had my mark two golf and they were willing to add an Audi S4 to my policy.

Worth a call and they don't frown on mods as long as they are declared it's fine.

I take it that the imoc don't have a deal with any insurers like some other car clubs around the country?

Also worth trying autoline up north. They have a good attitude to classics and we're willing to include a 99 Audi S8 on mine two years ago.

Would those of us pedestrians who possess minis not yet roadworthy be accepted to stop by for a look and a chat?

True they would be visible on the book but I don't think the department is permitted to provide that information under data legislation. If it's on the book then it's out in the public domain so to speak but they can't tell you anything. The same principal if you rang them about a newly registered c...
