1980 850.

**forgot to add price** Ideally someone would have a spare million to give me but realistically for the car with no extras id take 800. Im willing to negotiate and have a chat with people about the car and parts going with it but I have had the car sitting for a year and a half at this stage without...

Well worth a read for anyone considering mad engine swaps for a track weapon. its still un finished if your expectin...

1JZ Mini build in cork. Anyone from here?

There's a guy called Liam building a 1JZ mini in cork, or at least he was, but haven't heard anything more of it in the past year or so. Cant for the life of me find the thread on the usual sites. So wondering if anyone one has heard of it/seen it around? Followed the thread avidly for about 6 month...

Re: 98 mini upgrades??

Have a look around the site there's countless ideas for performance mods. Most common are stage 1 kit. Available from minispares/minisport or any other on-line retailer. Most parts come up for sale regularly so you can find decent second hand deals. What engine is in it currently? The performance ha...

Re: Respray or Vinyl Wrap?!

Another alternative is Plasti-Dip. Worth a look and again don't quote me on this but I vaguely remember getting quoted at about 500/600 quid. The lads on Car Wrap Direct Ireland were more then happy to have a chat over Facebook and were really helpful. The fact they provide the product had nothing t...

Re: Respray or Vinyl Wrap?!

Vinyl wrap isn't that cheap to be honest.
its a messy job with all the lips and bumps on a mini.
Unless your quite competent and able to remove the mouldings over the seems its tricky.
ask around for quotes but your potentially looking at about 750-1000 before body work is touched.

Re: Clubman shell rebuild for vtec

Loving the build. I keep putting mine on the long finger. I'v to pick up a boot-lid over the weekend and he's throwing in a few other bits including window rubbers. He's claiming there in good condition and if they are your more then welcome to have them at a nominal price as iv only replaced mine a...

last try before sending it to a garage any ideas welcome

I have been struggling to get my 998 rover mini started after fitting a stage one kit, inline filter and a new head. Its sparking fine. Fuel is getting to the carb, filling the dash-pot, but seems not to be making it to the engine. The jet on the very bottom of the carb sometimes sticks open and see...

Re: new head and carb needle+spring, now wont start.

Still running standard cam. There was no fule getting to the engine so have the carb out cleaning it and going to check the plugs now see if there wet. How would I know if there's spark? The plugs were working fine before I took them out so just assumed they would be ok to go back in. Thanks for tak...

Re: weber 40 DCOE on 998

Reason for asking is the bypass hose has been welded closed on the 12G295 head so really just would have been a whole lot easier if it worked well with a blanking sleeve. But sure no one said minis were easy..just loads of fun. Great to hear about the 40's suiting the 1380 they look savage apart fro...

really appreciate the help on this. so the 40's are out for the 998. what about on a 1380? too small? Everyone seems to rave about the sw5 cam so ill be sure to have a look into it. Another question for you. how important is a thermostat?? Is running a blanking sleeve etc. safe enough or for a road ...

more capacity meaning bore it??
not looking to build the worlds fastest mini here just something that packs a punch without going crazy.
relatively simple bolt on upgrades would be ideal to be honest.
