Ok, firstly I blocked off the thick pipe with the T joint in it, and it made absolutely no difference to how it ran or drove... Bought a 1993 mini with the engine out of it and put in a 998 engine.. I used both manifolds from a 1275 and im left with two pipes which look like vacuum coming from the carb.. Anyone have any idea where they go? I'll upload a photo as soon as i work out how to! Also, if anyone has any photos of wh...

Ya bled the clutch . Some times it's fine and sometimes no clutch until you pump the peddle 3 or 4 times.feels like oil bypassing in one of the units.

Just changed the engine in my mini and now have to pump the clutch 2 or 3 times to get the car in gear. Does this sound like the master cylinder or the slave cylinder? No fluid leaking. Any help would be appreciated.

There are 8 teeth on each starter and when turned over the engine does turn over but sounds rough

Does anyone know if the old type pre engaged starter motor can be directly replaced with the more modern type with the solenoid on it ?

Hi it turns out to be a maestro van engine with the gearbox side mounted.only thing going for it is its 1275 cc.presume this engine is not interchangeable with thev1275 mini or are parts different I need a crankshaft and Conrad?

Ya I presume it must be a metro or a maestro van.i am awaiting a photo and that should tell all. Does the the metro engine and box fit straight in?

Just been offered a rover van engine it's 1275 cc what's the odds of this fitting?

Can anyone tell me please will a 1989 1275cc engine fit straight into a 1993 Mini Mayfair that had a 1275cc engine without any changes to the wiring loom etc. Will the starter from the 1993 fit the older engine as previous projects have shown that modifications can be needed Many thanks

Is there a knack to getting the flywheel and clutch off this without getting the gas torch to it ?

Hi got a mini engine and was told it was a 1275 with a broken crankshaft .had a quick look at it and 2 questions firstly 998 is written on the block is this just a casting no or dose it mean its a 1 liter and secondly it appears the flywheel is loose on the end of the crank .is it possible for this ...

Hi can someone tell me will a 998 cc engine and box slot straight in to a 1275 car without altering anything. Is it the same driveshafts exhaust etc?
