J, Your best bet is to straighten it and reweld it, if you havent already got heavy duty adjustable tie rods, get some. They will allow adjustment if the subframe is slightly out after repairing it. No i dont have standard belts

Ive had a few NCTs and been stopped loads of times and never had a problem.

Its still the security thing im goin for. Havin the car and tools locked away in a van that doesn look conspicious It would be kinda hard to miss a Mini being put in the back of a van don't you think? I think people are going to know its there! :lol: If theres 15 cars on trailers in a hotel carpark...

ah right, thats not so bad. Id say the arches are about 250 - 300mm high so you should have plenty of room.
