Re: Mini running rough
I think the coil is ok as i took off each spark plug lead one by one when she was running and each cylinder seems to be firing ok. Maybe this isnt the best way to test a coil? Coolant temp. sensor seems to be ok aswell. Anyone know anything about throttle position sensors or how to test them? or any...

Re: Mini running rough
all rubbers appear to be in good condition and well sealed. any tips on how to test if they are sealing correctly and if not where can i get replacements? other forums say to change the coolants temp. sensor, is this worth a shot or is there other things to test first?

Mini running rough
I have a 1992 austin cooper 1275 spi. She starts and ticks over perfect but when you drive her anything over 2000 rpm she begins overfuelling and backfiring under the air box. Anyone know what this could be? She hasnt been driven much in the past year and only modification is a straight through exha...

Re: Curious about my engine
Much appreciated thanks. What is the average market value for one of these fully restored? Tested for 6 months, 4 new tyres, refurbished alloys etc.. http://www.irishminis.ie/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=7947

Curious about my engine
I recently had my mini in the garage for a few small jobs (focus the lights, tracking, etc.) when the mechanic started asking about my engine. Its a 1992 Austin Cooper 1.3 injection. He doubts that mini's came out with all the electrics such as ECU and all the sensors to go with it at that year. I l...

Re: My Mini Cooper
Sandblast it first. Becareful when you go to see it after sand blasting as there may not be much of your car left! We have our own sandblaster as we restore vintage tractors so i had a fair idea how bad it would be! Its much easier to cut out the old bad metal and weld in the new metal after sandbla...

Re: 12 x 5.5 superlights
Had them on my mini at first. Didnt think they suited the sportspack arches as they wern't wide enough even with spacers. Refurbished and fitted 6x12's last week and they really set the car off. I have loads of photos with the standard wheels if you want a look
