Re: 1981 Mini City 1000

It's amazing to see the differences with Irish registered cars and their UK counterparts for rust. Looking forward to seeing the project, I'm currently starting my own one.

1994 1275 Sprite with a stage 1 kit on a HIF38

That's exactly why I'm asking. Thinking of fitting the same to my car. Did the stage one kit make much of a difference?

So would that mean without the cat the car will likely fail?

Swap Set of Revolutuion Style Wheels?

Hi I have a set of these on my Mini, 5x12, no curbing but need a polish, with very good Falken Tyres. I'm looking to swap for a set of Minilite style in 4.5x12 as I want to keep the car as standard as possible and the revoultions stick out past the arches about 1/2 an inch. I'm in West Cork area.

Rough Idle on 1994 Carb Mini

Hi I have just purchased a 1994 mini 35. It has two issues. A hunting idle and running on when ignition is switched off. Any ideas where I should start?

Went to view this car as I'm coming back to mini ownership at last! Is actually a 97 mpi interior and running gear in an earlier-ish shell.

Re: 00 Mpi Cooper For Swap or Sale( No longer for Sale)

Have you changed your mind again, Jon? http://cars.donedeal.ie/for-sale/cars/3077881 Hopefully not but had some unforseen financial changes the past week so I dont know if I can hold on to her now or not. Said I would renew the donedeal ad just to see if there is any interest. As I said hopefully e...

Re: Improving Performance on an Mpi

Lots of food for thought there. Looks like I will have to take it slowly and get the bits one at a time. Mostly due to my long suffering girlfriend's constant dismay at the money I keep spending on the car :D

Re: Improving Performance on an Mpi

Some say it does, others say it doesn't. The 48mm plastic bodies are known to crack. Burlen supply both 48mm and 52mm metal bodies. The official Cooper Works kit used a 52mm body and a fuel pressure regulator. Apparently you can pick up the regulators cheaply off old Fords. There are plenty out the...

MPI Discussion

You should do a little more research and know what you want out of the tune before you make a final decsision. The mpi reacts very well to a stage 3 head and lcb/exhaust and it doesn't need to be set up on a rolling road either. I'll be at the track day if you want to see what an mpi can do. Your c...
