If I was you I would chuck the Cam belt kit and fit a standard timing chain s...

Re: engine weight?
Unless your putting a motor cycle engine in you wont be saving any weight, the Honda, starlet, vauxhall and the k series conversions all add between 200 and 350kg to a mini, the only motorcycle engine the works out the same weight as the a sreies is the R1 but when you fit the diff and extra suport s...

Re: And three days later! :(
Yes some of the late SPIs it think from 94 on had Immobilize I guessed it might be your problem,
there simple enough to bypass when you turn the ignition on does the fuel pump run ?
Stick your head in the boot and get a mate to turn the key to the crank position.

Re: Vented disc brakes
No need Adain, some of the racers are on cross drilled 7.4 disks, I however would not recomend green stuf there complete rubish IMHO, DS2000 or mintex 1144.

Re: SPI TUNNING
dont forget Mark that the engine has to come out an be striped to fit a cam, the cylinder head will also need work as well as valve geometry to see any power increce,
I have fitted one of these SC ECU it is a neet piece of kit and worked well with the mods I done to the engine,
regards,
Paul.
