Re: k series metro for parts
Dont think there is much of any use Liam. I gave one away a few years ago. The only thing i remember taking off it was the handbrake lever grip. There are quite a few posts on the Mini Forum of guys putting the K series into a mini but i know a guy up here that did it. He made his own frame but the ...

As rmc123 says, check the fuse box and then the connectors up at the rear of the speedo housing in the engine bay. Behind the carb.

Irish registered Clubman Estate shell
Ive unfortunately decided to put the clubman estate shell up for sale. I have replaced both inner sills and doorsteps, outer sills(short OE) rear valance and closers. It will come with the original rear doors with repair sections, Left and right doors and a replacement 1/2 front panel. Bonnet is exc...

Re: Clubman Estate Barn Find - Co. Galway
Amazing bit of work there. I'm inspired to make a start on my own 1980 estate. Its already stripped to a bare shell. I wasn't so sure about soda blasting but having seen yours, that's the route I'm going to go. I've a lot of work to do on the inner/outer sills and doorsteps. Rear bins are gone compl...

Re: getting car from the UK
Hi there, Try Brian Johnston. He,s in Castlederg and has 3 or 4 lorries in the UK every week. He will take it to Castlederg for collection. Having used him on numerous occasions, the price depends on where he has to collect it. The nearer it is to Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham and down to London...
Re: muti tool
Sorry, havent used one for grinding welds. I,ve seen it used a couple of times but i,d reckon it would take forever to tidy welds up if you had any reasonable amount to do. A small grinder isnt that expensive, it might be worth investigating about getting one, it,d make life a lot handier for you.

Re: TZP496 Mini City 850cc, where is it now?
I think TZP is a Donegal registration. It might be worth contacting Donegal County Council in Lifford as they would be able to check to see if its still on the road.

Re: Engine advice
Again thats interesting about the size of overbore. I hadnt thought about how much meat to take off the block to give me 1380. And i,ve heard before that the difference between the power output of a 1330 and a 1380 is so minimal that its not worth going into offset boring and the huge extra cost tha...

Re: Engine advice
Hmm, thats interesting. I might give him a call and have a chat with him. As you say, £1500 might be a bit on the low side. I,m trying to steer away from a second hand unit unless i can reliably know whats in it. Too many horror stories out there.
Cheers again.

Re: Engine advice
Thanks for that, as you say, some of the bits are mad money and this is where i,m trying to see what is worth spending it on and what bits are "luxuries" if you know what i mean. I just want to build myself a strong, reliable but ultimately quick engine. I,d be renewing the bearings and pi...

Engine advice
I,m new on here but not so new to Minis. In the past, i,ve limited any modifications that ive done to cylinder head, carbs, exhaust etc but i,m in the mind to do some more serious engine modifications to my 1995 SPI. At the moment, the car is 100% standard. The original engine has approximately 85k ...

Old Donegal Motor club information needed.
Dont know if this is of interest to anyone but i,ve been given this old newspaper cutting by my dad from quite a while ago. He is trying to find out if anyone would recognise any of those in the picture or can narrow it down to a year. We think that it is from around 1970ish as its the group who ori...

Re: amazingly young mini....
I,m pretty sure that i know this car. If its not it, then its definitely owned by the same guy and a bit of a coincidence. He,s well known in classic car circles in the N.West. If its the car i,m thinking it is, then its definitely not a 73 Cooper having been owned by a dealer in NI previously and s...
