Re: engine LOCKED SOLID

Diesel in bores is a good plan, if the no fanbelt has no joy go with diesel in the bo...

You need to see 4psi at the outlet side to carb, any more and needs a...

Re: 10inch brake set up
Probably is diagonal split about that year on the car, I would convert it to front rear split, diagonal split is nuts it one side of master cylinder circuit fails you get to spin if you hit the brakes!! better than nothing I supposed but front rear you have some brakes in a straight line! Convert to...

Re: building a turbo mini 1275?
A Turbo HIF is not the same as a NA one, the turbo one has extra drillings these can be replicated outside the carb, the Turbo HIF also has a clamp on the top to stop the oil plunger undoing under boost. Extra cooling of number 4 pot essential. Some Turbo's didnt have the harder crank just down to p...

Re: is a 1275 turbo engine a good quick engine
Whole car was built by a MSA Scruitineer and Marshall who since building this now has a business building and maintaining Race/Rally/Hillclimbers track day cars etc. I don't have the engine spec to hand but it runs very high compression but had to run on pump fuel so used to run on Optimax. It would...

Re: is a 1275 turbo engine a good quick engine
Hi saw the van with the V8 in at IMM2004 with hugggeee wheels on the back, not really much mini in it more a ladder chassis with a van shell grafted over. My friend Ian (SPAG) built what he called the roughest V8 mini deathtrap in the world, V8 transverse on princess gearbox in mini subframe, the en...

Re: is a 1275 turbo engine a good quick engine
see www.eraturbo.co.uk for the proper turbo mini.
You will need to fit a bulkhead box, and decent brakes, standard engine is just under 100HP and just under 100ib/ft of torque...
I prefer my ERA Turbo to the Vauxhall engined 165hp at wheels nutter rally machine I have here.

Hi Woody remember it well. Yes Rogers RSP, we went up with Roger, (Chas, Tim, Foster Charlton, Pete, Andy - AKA the Inno Boys) and Kay from Miniworld. Great long distance mini run, met up with a mate of Fosters overnighting at Newcastle who had a Mk1 S low mileage Barn find which had been lightly re...
Re: Hello
Goes well enough yes, puts out 100BHP and 98ft/ib of torque so enough to have a little fun, all with the A/C on
Paul Kellys been out in it a couple of times once in the Uk and once in Holland.

Hi
Has been at MITP 4 or 5 years, not this year been sat in corner of workshop over a year now just didnt get it out to play this year at all, well apart from a couple of blasts with the trade plates on.
At MITP would have been with Mini Bandits and RSP Cooper Register and Inno Coopers.

Re: Hello
I know he was telling me about the trailer yesterday. Any pictures about of it? there is a tiny one in a mag I got here but only postage stamp sized. MTM would be great but my ERA runs with about inch and half ground clearance at the front as it still has the japanese numberplate box on the front, u...

Shame to reck a 1300GT they are becoming really collectable now. If you are going to use it for mini purposes as i did way back in the day 1987-1990 when you could get hold of them for £50 as MOT failures. Engine, 11 stud block not cooper S spec though has no tappet plates on the rear head same as m...
