Hi, I was recently trying to sell my 96 equinox but have had a change of heart and instead I am going to try a restoration job on it. the front end has rust bubbles and paint flicking and flaking off which I was aware off but after at least nearly 6 months of sitting outside in the garden I decided ...

Central locking
Hi all, was just wondering has any one converted their door locks to Central locking off the existing rover key fob? If so was it an easy process and or what kit did you use?
Cheers

Re: Bonnet
Yeah thought as much 8-) £102 on Huddersfield spares for a spurious part which is reasonable enough just putting the feelers out for the best bargain. The catch has rusted away from the underneath of the bonnet suppose I could just weld it back on but would rather replace it as I will be painting th...

Re: Clutch issue.
Cheers for the replies. I am a mechanic by trade woody (so I am well prepared for cut knuckles and more swear words than a drunk sailor) just don't have much Mini repairs experience and from what I have done before nothing is a straight forward. Now that you mention it Macker I have had a knock and ...

Re: Clutch issue.
Thanks for the reply woody. Sorry I worded it wrong the pedal is not so much hard to press as it is hard to select 1st while pressing clutch occasionally. It only happens at a stop while selecting first but lately has been doin it while dropping hears while slowing down. I am fairly confident it is ...

Re: Spluttering and cutting out.
Since your problem seems to be load related (uphill) the first place I would look would be the vacumn pipes between the inlet manifold and ECU. The elbows at the ends of the pipes split and if you havent already replaced them I would reckon due to there age that thay would be going.( common problem...

Re: Spluttering and cutting out.
Cheers DaveC. No that is one thing i dont have and was looking for. I was thinking of that too but kinda thought with the removal of the plugs and it starting first time after refit that it probably wasn't damp but it does make sense condition wise.
