Depending on the year there are various lower engine steadies available,some are on the right hand side pointing forward another pointing to the rear .There is also one for the left side pointing to the rear all of these are standard brackets available from dare I say it mini spares and others . Good luck with your body work it sounds like fairly standard tin worm stuff for minis .Regarding the diff pin , a good test is to jack up one side off the ground keeping one wheel in contact with terra firma , car in gear, rotate the other wheel and measure the amount of play . I believe an A series eng. and box is approx. 350 pounds . the engine alone I do not know the weight. I hope that helps .
