Re: distributor question...
Depending on the type of electronic kit you have fitted you may need a ballist resistor and a different coil . The timming will depend on the engine you have its not the same for all minis .
Some other factors like advance curve , type af distributor ,unleaded fuel will have a bearing on it

Re: insurance!
It depends on the age of the car . Up to 87 will get you the option of a classic policy with some companys like carol nash . If its classic join the ivvcc and you can get a very good deal .
It will all depend on your age and the age of the car, other than that shop arround

I would say so with your chassis number ,but then i dont claim to know everything so ask arround . The only other way i know involves a grinder and a set of number stamps . But we dont encourage that do we.

Re: Will I or not?
I dont think so the c o for an injected car is 0.5 . The c o for a carbed car is 1.5 to 3.5 .
To get 0.5 out of an injected car is hard enough . To get it out of a carbed car you would need to screw the needle up so far i think the thing would be running on air!!!

Re: Unleaded or Leaded?????
No way to know .Only if the valves have recessed into the seats could you say that its a leaded head that has been run for sometime on unleaded fuel . If you use an additive that won't have happened anyway .You could have new seats fitted but its cheaper to buy an off the shelf head . I had mine don...
