Re: Radiator Issues
As Steeo said it could be a stat problem. They are cheap enough so its worth while replacing it anyway. Dont forget to put antifreeze in when refilling as this prevents corrosion in the cooling system. Cheers lads. What exactly should I look to order? I use minispares.com so if anyone could give me...

Re: Radiator Issues
I'm not sure how that would work. Had zero issues until yesterday with the radiator in the year I have owned it, and a week or two ago I removed the radiator cap to check the water level. Might I have damaged the cap seal then perhaps?steeo wrote:Could be something as simple as a broken thermostat ???

Radiator Issues
Hi all So my 96 Mini Cooper almost overheated yesterday and when I checked under my bonnet I noticed that the radiator cap had spewed dirty rusty water everywhere. I let the engine cool, and then refilled the radiator and that got me home, but I heard gurgling noises coming from the radiator when I ...

Re: Do I need to tune?
Hi all Just thought I'd post an update. I changed the air filter and spark plugs last weekend and I'm happy to say that the uneven idling has cleared up about 90% of the time! I had it happen once the other night on a 15 minute trip after I had parked for 5 mins and restarted the car, but after that...

Re: Barke Servo Not Working? - Need Advice
If your idel is having problems and youve lost your power assistance on braking it sounds like servo diaphram to me.Seen it happen before, there is a repair kit ,though by the sounds of it I think you should get some professional help. Thanks Woody - the Haynes manual does have a bit in the braking...

Re: Barke Servo Not Working? - Need Advice
the servo takes energy in the form of vacum from the inlet manifold... this may or may not be related to your previous posting uneven idling. depending on how confident you are with diy, i suggest having a good poke around under the bonnet. failing that, talk to paul kelly in minifix.. he's over n'...

Re: Barke Servo Not Working? - Need Advice
I haven't adjusted anything at all in terms of brakes etc. Does my type of mini not just have front disk brakes? I thought the handbrakes worked on the back wheels? The Marcos Graveyard wrote:When did you last adjust the back brakes ?

Barke Servo Not Working? - Need Advice
Hi there I have a very strong suspicion that my brake servo is not working in my 96 Mini Cooper. I have a friend with a slightly older Cooper with what looks like a similar brake set-up under the bonnet and while driving his the difference is marked, and can't be explained due to pads etc. It really...

Re: Do I need to tune?
Hi all OK, so I checked out the air filter today (very dirty) and the spark plugs (look so-so) and even carefully ran the engline with no air filter and the tuning issue still appears to be there. I will change the air filter and plugs myself, but I am not too hopeful it will sort out the problem. S...

Re: Do I need to tune?
Thanks!
I am based on Dublin's north side.
Would the two problems I mentioned be related?
Cheers,
CJ

Do I need to tune?
Hi all - my first post so hi :D I am the proud new owner of a 96D 1275CC Mini Cooper. It is a Japanese import but I am 2nd owner in Ireland. It's very understated and hasn't been enhanced as far as I can tell. I noticed the other day that when it is idling in neutral the rev counter every few second...
