Re: Seen a Mini?
Hi Boys and Girls! Been living in the States (Virginia - the other one that is) for the last 5 months and in total I have seen 2Minis  both UK exports. Looked into buying one here as I now have the luxury of a huge double garage and nothing worth putting in it(the wife`s Honda Pilot doesn`t cou...

Bucket seats
Once again I seek to draw from your wisdom and knowledge oh Oracles of the Mini brethern and sisterhood!!!!!!! have just put a rollcage with doorbars into Homer and the seats are a little bit squished (last owner of the car was 17 stone and 6 3). I am looking to replace them with bucket seats and wa...

Re: On Patricia Storgen behalf - insurance
I also used FBD and it only cost about €150 3rd party. They didn`t ask forany mileage cert or anything else.
I have 2 other cars insured with them.

Engine running very fast - and thirsty!!
Hi All! MY mini is fitted with a 1.3 carb metro engine. When it warms up, after about 10 mins, it idles very fast and the revs dont drop very much during gear changes. I have tried adjusting the idling screw to no avail, the choke is fully in and as far as I can tell the throttle isnt sticking. Any ...

Re: 1978 Yellow Mini
Thanks guys for all the good wishes! DaveC, John did indeed win the first race in Mondello in a Mini. He started his career as a mechanic in the company that built the Mini in Dublin. Billy, the Mini NEEDS to be parked in the garage, would`nt start these last 2 damp mornings, but the 911 is staying ...

1978 Yellow Mini
This is the Mini I bought in the UK and drove home via Liverpool earlier this week. It did the 200 mile trip without a bother - much to my relief!!! It has been re-engined at some point with a 1275 metro unit. It has disc brakes on the front and 10 inch wheels. It has 45K on the clock, though I dont...
Re: Hello!!!
Well "Homer" and I made it back safe and sound from the Uk yesterday morning. The 200 mile drive from March in Cambridgeshire to Liverpool went without a hitch (except I forgot my earplugs-and its a very noisy car!). I couldn`t believe the number of smiles/thumbs up I got from other driver...
Re: Hello!!!
thanks Keith, i might take you up on that, give me a call 086 8118449. Spent all morning on the phone with various insurance companies axa came in at 352 for 3.5k-5.2k p/a mileage. Cheapest was FBD 3rd party only 142, they dont do comp on classics, but no mileage limit, no need to have another "...
Re: Hello!!!
Have jumped in with both feet and bought a `78 mini with a Metro engine in the UK yesterday!! Its on pistonheads.com, yes the yellow one! My kids have already christened it Homer (at least I think they were talking about the car!!). I intend picking it up the end of next week, then a 5 hour drive to...
Re: Hello!!!
A nice car with a lot of workdone! But you know the way some guys prefer blondes over brunettes - I prefer the ordinary mini over the clubman - no offence to anyone who has one (or a brunette either!!!) ![Cool 8)](./images/smilies/icon_cool.gif)

Re: Hello!!!
8) Thanks for the replies and help guys - will bear all that in mind when I get to lookat one I want. I am leaning towards an older 30+ years so I dont have to pay much road tax (already pay enough with a 3.0, 1.8 and 3.2 all sitting on the driveway!) and it galls me togive the B******s another cent...
Hello!!!
:D Morning All!! I`m new to this site & club (cheque is in the post I swear!). I last owned a Mini 19 years ago which came to an unfortunate end after an altercation with one Mr Charles Stewart Parnell who resides at the top of O`Connell Street, Dublin! I am now looking to buy a daily runner (I ...
