Not surprised as the guys testing the cars generalise all cars. Had lots of run ins with the NCT over failing on stupid things. There should be a min of 60 thou between the bottom of the oil gallery and the face of the head. Measure the height of the head and the dept of the oil gallery and subtract them to find how much metal is between the two.

how is the earth wires on to the engine/chassis. you could try attaching an earth wire around the body of the lamda sensor. put a hose clip around the sensor and strip back the wire, feed it between the sensor and the clip. tighten the clip gently. then connect the other end to the engine block. mak...

done a few sums for fuel consumption on MTM.
If I got the sums wright this is what the result was,

903.4 miles home to home.
72 litres (16 Gals) of fuel
56.98 per Gallon
20.17 km/lt
4.95 lt per 100 kms
cost 96.59 euro's

Myself (Eamonn Newton) Fran Newton and Brian Kelly are meeting on the N7 Clondalkin at 10.15. will meet up with the guys at the applegreen station and then onward to Leix meeting the rest.

have you checked the earth connection for the Engine control module (ECU). I have had cars in the past giving all sorts of mad and weird problems. All so have you checked the tappet settings. If they are to tight there will not be a clearence when the engine gets hot.
