Re: Filling the tank!!

I found that when the needle is fully in the red, there is at least ten litres left in the tank. I removed the sender from the tank and bent it a b...

€130 is real rip-off Ireland though.

Did you try a few different auto factors ?
Thanks I will try Somerford on Monday and I tried a few places, the cheapest was 100 euro. Even with 15 euro postage from minispares the total was still only 60 euro

Re: 97 Cooper

Well I got it back this evening and its driving perfect now 8) The closer gearing has made a huge difference to acceleration and the engine is much less stressed on hills.

But as I have grown to expect from this car, it has developed a new rattle

Re: 97 Cooper

Re: 1988 Mini Designer

Whats the paint quality like on it stan, cause it looks like in some places it has been painted with a brush! And beware of the wing to scuttle joins, when I was looking for a mini I seen one like that and by using a cloth and magnet, we found that there was very little metal left. Its a very origin...

Re: More trouble 00 MPI

Thanks for the link keith... had already left it into your man by the time i saw it though. Turns out the cut off switch is dodgey. He just bypassed it. He said this wassafe enough as its connected to a fuse anyway...? Glad you got it sorted, it is connected to a fuse and the fuel pump, so its safe...

Re: More trouble 00 MPI

No, there was no noise, I know the noise you mean, just didn't know what it was. Im afraid it sounds like the fuel pump has broken, although it might be worth checking the wiring, starting from the relay pack in the engine bay the fuel pump wire (brown/grey) goes to a 10 Amp fuse in the passenger c...

Re: More trouble 00 MPI

Ok, cool, heading home on lunch in a second and will check for that. You reckon if i dont hear that it might be the fuses? Multimeter job? Well if the pump doesnt make any noise then it could be the fuse (look in the handbook for the fuses location), wiring (a purple/white wire runs from the fuel c...

Does the fuel pump prime for 3 secs with the ignition on? if it doesnt check the fuse. Also has the fuel filter ever been changed
