He has a few Morris' himself and is a classic car enthusiast so knew what he was doing.....where to jack etc.....always good to have so...

Re: 165/60/12's on 12x5's ?

A small place in Cratloe out towards Shannon. They are shutting down the end of the month and liquidating stock. A friend of mine works there and spotted them in stock and got a good price for me. Dont know if they have any in stock but could possibly order them ?

Re: 165/60/12's on 12x5's ?

Ok.....the falken Ziex's work out at €55 each and €30 for fitting balancing etc....no valves. So thats €250 all up. put the GT radials on for €200 all up and am not happy with the grip. Happy enough with the price. Any better deals out there guys ?

While you are at it and have it apart you might as well do all 8.....in my opinion. Have to do mine soon and those are the seals I got from Somerford so In hope they are right. :)

165/60/12's on 12x5's ?

Hi Guys, Having problems sourcing good 145/70/12's for the Mini as the GT radials I have on it are nearing their death. There seems to be a deal on Falken Ziex tyres 165/60/12 all around at the minute at €50 a pop. Will they fit the 12x5 cooper alloys ? If not does anyone have a line on good 145's ?...

Re: Advice - Mini as a first car?

All cars should really be serviced regularly anyway but most Mini owners I know like to service the car more regularly just for peace of mind and to keep their pride and joy up to top standard. :D The parts for Minis arent that expensive really and a regular oil/oil filter/Air filter/Fanbelt/ Spark ...

White hides a lot and any remaining little blemishes won't really be noticed, where as black and darker colours show up every thing :( .

Re: changing the face ?

When I crashed my Austin 1000 I was gonna put a flip front on it. Was gonna buy both a clubbie front and a roundnose as the inner wings wouldnt have made a massive difference to the flip fronts. If you got a project shell with the entire front end removed....the world is your oyster.

the front is the worst part: i think clubman's can look quite well if they emulate the look of the classic dodge charger, with recessed grill and all round scoop. agree with CLUBMANGT, there's a lot of work there. http://image.automotive.com/f/featuredvehicles/10743376+pheader/hrdp_0301_03_z+1969_c...

I had a similar problem alright, running rich, idling very fast all the time.......I would accelerate.....no power and the car would stall. Wouldnt start then, as if it was flooded. Worked itself out though in the end.
