check to see if the fuel pipe is touching of the exhaust manifold... happened me before. if it is it means that the heat from the exhaust (right under the carb) is evaporating the fuel before it even gets to the carb... fuel shortage... check that. u can just bend the pipe out of the way sort of.......

truns out the wire i ran from the starter to my radio must have sucked the life out of my battery even tho it sounded normal i changed battery and the engine sparked up no bother........

something like that happened me just there... i was running a wire from the starters permanent live to my radio... went well for a couple days then all of sudden wouldnt start, then got it push started but whenever i had to slow down and the revs dropped the engine would just conk and wouldnt start ...

ok so whats the easiest way to check these without messin up the settings or having to reset anything?

i have bad history wit carbs.....

the leads are near new, only been used 4-5 k miles or so... :| think they ok but will check yea the engine turns over on the turn of the key it just doesnt fire up... ok, if i was to check the carb for petrol, what should i do...? hate touching the carb also as it was setup perfectly and dont wanna ...

89 racing flame mini running fine since i got it month ago, then after work yesterday the car wouldnt fire up at all.. i assumed it had something to do wit running a radio cable from the starter motor (permanent live) but it appeared it wasnt when i removed that... so got it push started and it went...

ooooh i be up for this :!: seein as im bein let go from work and no jobs around il have loadsa time to finish the project and hopefully have it goin by the :D *fingers crossed* if not il be driving the racing green 8) any help appreciated wit this by the way, alls i keep doin is finding more and mor...

Iv just got one a few weeks ago :D But my cousin in law who bought it is from england so i'd say he got it there, he then moved to ireland and the mini was registered as 89ky3499, then he went back to england and re-registered it there, i got it a few weeks ago and sorta still on english plates but ...

just as the subject title. i got my new mini (racing flame) few weeks ago and the lights are uber crappy, i tried switching the lights from my other mini (they seemed brighter) but still no more light.... its quite dodgy on the roads at night, specially at long distance as i just rely on the cateyes...

those are bout the same measurements i got before from some plans of the net... i made them to exact measurement but found it wasnt a perfect fit... (no offense tmg) if i was you joe id make it slighlt bit bigger than given measuremnts, better to big than to small....... :roll: good luck making one ...

no worries si :) ah im good, have 2 and a half minis now and really wanna do all the welding etc myself to get the experience and hopefully acquire some new skills......... :oops: definately need them, was practising doing a bit of welding tonight, was gettin nice welds on the flat but when i tried ...

tmg he gave up because he had it for three years, hadnt done much to it over that time (well..) n broke up wit his gf and had to move out of his rented home incl garage.... tmg have you still got those old smaller rear lights u had at the auto jumble??? was tight squeeze gettin it into the van, too ...

well i have all the time in the world to do it so hopefully i dont make a balls of it so :D im after finding a nice 1 1/4 twin carburettors in one of the boxes with all/most of the parts cleaned and labelled in bags and a twin carb heat shield too.... did a 89 mayfair come with a 3 clock dash??? fou...

wooohooo! after lots of decisions and a lot of driving me and my brother made it to basildon england to scoop up ''Project Nancy'' :lol: a good bit of work was done on her by the previous owner (cheers) and hopefully i will restore her to her former (or better) glory... i have no set date as to wen ...

im in a pickle.... plan was go over to england wit my bro, buy a mini shell with lots of parts, throw it into a rented van, call over to my cousin who is also selling his mini , buy it and i drive that home... # now, heres the thing... every quote i get to rent a van is in or around the 400-500 mark...
