most i have done is stage one kit - cheap/effective way of getting a bit more life from your standard engine hi-lo's and adjustable suspension with good tyres - comfier drive and better road grip/handling mk ll fiesta brake conversion with 7.9 inch discs- alot more breaking power than std disc setup...

it would be a very easy engine to fit into the engine bay.. i have thought about all sorts of engines, then one arose very cheaply and im going to go with that... 16v twincam 4efte engine from a starlet gt, i have the full car so will be handy for electrics and driveshafts and all other ancillaries ...

theres a guy selling rebuilt mk2 fiesta calipers on ebay <--- would save you hassle sourcing some and rebuilding them yourself.. then you need metro drive flanges <----- can still be got second hand or brand new/restored from the likes of minispares etc. 7.9 inch discs can be got from MRA minis on r...

well steven how you getting on with the fiesta set up?? any faults?? just statrted mine yesterday.. none so far to be honest... :D there a good job and it was actually a very simple and effective conversion to do ... thats a good idea lads,do the fiesta conversion brakes have good stopping power?i ...

or you could go the fiesta caliper brake conversion way....
thats exactly what i done, got some mkll fiesta calipers for bout 20 quid, had metro drive flanges, and ordered pair of 7.9inch discs from MRA minis for about 50 quid, little bit of modding and job done, works like a treat

the nuts are more than likely original and are an imperial size hence the ,5 .. .. think its 3/4'' imperial socket your looking for , correct if im wrong anyone...

you need to get a ''matting agent'' and this is then mixed with lacquer if you wanted to keep your matte look..
whether you'l be able to find it in a can i dont know, there's a paint supplier based in monaghan where i got my stuff, cant find the number sorry.

yea it's doing the job on my mini so far and has done well on a different mini of mine which is now gone :( the only bad thing about it was that you need to bend/remove the pin which is usually used as a mounting point for the normal ignition module in order to make the electric one fit if ya get me...

saw a 96 blue mini with group 2 arches and 5.5-6 deep dish 12'' alloys in navan town car park..
seen another mint 01 BRG sportspack tat was for sale in johnstown shopping centre carpark, good luck with sale but at €9500 its a bit steep in todays market tbh

the fiesta conversion is very straight forward and has been doing a good job for me so far...
i'l see if i can get down to the autojumble and you can bring it for a rip to check for yourself

got the clubby running alright again, changed it to electronic ignition

The job I saw used the fiesta hose and just adapted the subby end to fit. Who turned down your disks steve and what they charge? i ordered the discs straight from MRA mini's from England, they turn down 8.4 discs to 7.9 for few quid extra, think it was about 40 quid the pair, but then as per usual ...

not so bad Mine are goin to be abused quite badly so i hope they hope up, :shock: Where can a man go to get the hoses made?? I modded the fiesta caliper slightly so that i could use the original mini hose.. I drilled a hole dead in the middle at the back of the caliper ( same position as mini calip...

I got them on the estate and think there a quite a bit better than normal 8.4 setup...
but syaiung that i havent tested them properly yet if ya know what i mean
very cheap and easy conversion to do IMO.

i put money on it that that mini is joe murrays on here..
if any of you have seen the car at previous shows you might have noticed the car is (dont know how bad the fire was) MINT..
i also seen the vtec engine and subframe in the car, very neat job, pity he's selling up :/

good man brendan for the pictures.. yep still few bits to do on the estate: mirror missing, wiper missing, need to get engine tuned and get the car resprayed or give it a good coat of lacquer to even out the doors bonnet with the rest of the car... was driving it for about a week, well happy with it...

that looks like a pain in the behind of a list as i myself hate electrics... what year is the mini?? if its a carb model with the four fuses you should have a look yourself with the aid of a haynes manual, if your like me after a half an hour or so of looking at the diagrams you will start to unders...

i got a set of falkens from lakeland tyres in lisnaskea (20 min up the road from me) balanced and fitted for around 200...
ya'd wanna check that it has an E (? correct me someone) mark on the tyre with that bein a new nct fail if it doesnt or sumn....
