Yeah - there was a lot of rust and grime, which I cleaned off and replaced the fuses (but not with in-line ones). Was working fine this morning thankfully.

Traced it back to a dodgy fuse and some singed wiring !

Yes - all indicators go at same time.
Not sure about the guages; I wasn't consciously checking (but will in future) because I was getting angry motorists pointing out that my brake lights as well as indicators were not functioning !

Hi. I have an intermittent electrical glitch on my 1988 Mini City 1000 Automatic. I'm losing indicators & brake lights every now and then; the giages read max as well. They always come back to normal after a while and I have not changed the fuses. Anyone any ideas?

Hi Leyland. I have the correct oil and a new filter in only 250 miles ago. What I didn't do was drain the torque converter. I might drain the whole thing again this weekend, including the converter and refill it and see what happens. I'll keep you posted. To be honest, it is going very well and mayb...

I brought in in from the UK and it is only on the road since middle December but I had it checked over by a mechanic friend - he did an engine oil and filter change - is there a separate oil resevoir for the auto transmission he might have overlooked? I had minis when I was young and the engine and ...

Going into top and the one below top gears only but it is a very smooth trqansmission.
Is it a three speed box?

Hi. My 88 automatic sometimes 'races' when changing up. There is 27k miles on the clock. Does this indicate possible gearbox problems? It is also very clumky when selecting drive or reverse from neutral. Any thoughts? Goes like a dream otherwise.
