Re: Lights - or lack there of!
thought about that but was thinking that the headlights would be totally gone if it was a fuse? Too dark to check tonight, I'll have a root tomorrow afternoon! Edit - Couldn't stand to leave it till the morning: Fuses are all fine but I gave them a rub with an emery board anyway - no joy. Probably w...

Lights - or lack there of!
Hi folks, My full headlights stopped working today. I have a standard two stage light switch - part YUF101030 I think. Stage 1 (side lights) work fine but (stage 2) dipped headlights aren't working. Neither are highbeams although when I pull the indicator stalk back to flash highbeams they come on f...

Re: Steering Column Adjuster
Thanks for the info folks, I'll have a root around this evening. Gareth: I did indeed buy the car off Ger. It has been going well. Haven't needed to do much with it apart from replacing the water pump and vacuum pipes from the manifold to the ECU and airbox. Anything else has been shiny cosmetic stu...

Re: Steering Column Adjuster
Cheers John, I'll give it a shot and see what happens.
I ended up replacing those vacuum pipes we worked on a while back. The connectors were worn out and gave up during the week. She's running smoothly again!

Steering Column Adjuster
I'm in the process of making my mini more comfortable. The seat brackets are in and it's amazing what a difference that extra inch makes! Next up is the steering column adjuster, it arrived in the post today. I have hit a snag though. The first step in the installation instructions is "Slacken ...

Re: Roof rack for Kayak
I regularly carry a kayak on the roof of my mini. I use the Paddy Hopkirk roof bars. I think I got them on the MiniMania website as I couldn't find them anywhere else at the time. Aparantly they're rated for up to 75kg although I wouldn't try it as they aren't nearly as good as Thule bars - 2 kayaks...

Re: Engine cutting out
problem solved. Turns out a worn connector on a vacuum hose from the inlet manifold to the ECU was the culprit. Thanks for the help on Saturday John!

Engine cutting out
Car problems seem to be coming in 3's for me. the week before last I ran out of petrol (don't ask). Since then I've been having some problems with the engine cutting out - it ran like a dream before. It usually happens as I come to a stop - at lights etc. If I hear the engine starting to die and gun...

Re: Judder while braking
I'm not feeling brake pedal movement while braking. I might try rotating the wheels and see if it makes a difference.

Judder while braking
Hi Folks, I have a noticible judder when braking. I thought it may be due to a slow puncture on the front passenger side but after replacing tyres it's still present alhough less severe. Brake disks and pads seem sound enough and it passed the NCT last week so it's more of an annoyance than anything...

Dodgy heater
Hi there, I'm having some problems with a stubborn heater. When it works, it works well and heats me and my car up in no time. But when it doesn't work...well, it's winter so I'm wearing a lagging jacket! Lately it has been working less often than I would like. Any ideas? I haven't gone near it yet ...
