I saw a photo in one of the mini magazines of somebody having transported a GT in the back of a Transit so you should be safe enough. Just keep plenty of padding on the new paint!

99% certain there was none. Maybe that was before Triplex Irl discovered how to do the shamrocks!

Checked my glass tonight. No markings of any sort on any windows.

D Seven - the photos will be on their way, that's if the camera and pc will recognise each other which they aren't at the moment

Billy,

Mine seems to be similar to the UK export spec, so was probably imported before CKD assembly started.

Billy,

There is no L&N plate, but there is a plate with a Longbridge phone no.

Woody,

I have never looked closely enough, but will check

D Seven,

I haven't had a chance to get any photos yet, but will get some over the weekend

Billy, Mine is a 1960 Austin Seven, original Irish reg, with all the features of the early cars - dash lights under speedo, lights in rear companion boxes, combined front sidelights and indicators, chrome push buttons for sliding windows, floor start, dodgy synchromesh, rust, flat sills, rust, rust ...

That's 27.5mph on mostly motorway.
500 miles will take 18 hours, and there's not much motorway between Mizen and Malin.

I will probably be shot for this but here goes anyway, having never done MTM it's not easy for me to comment, but I can't see myself doing 500 miles in one day in my 1275GT with rock hard suspension and it's noise levels. Maybe I have been driving modern cars for too long, maybe I just remember some...

It all depends on what someone is prepared to pay. There have been early minis advertised lately for around the €4,000 to €4,500 mark, but you would be expecting something in excellent shape for that. A new floor welded in on top of the rusty existing one would significantly reduce the value of the ...

There was a car featured in MiniWorld - May 2006 edition, page 40. That should give you some idea of what it would look like

1275GT update

I have spent a bit of time going over the GT since I moved it. The clutch problem (as per the last update) seems to be either with the slave cylinder, or the flexible pipe between the slave and master has collapsed internally and is not allowing the fluid back to the master cylinder. Does anyone kno...

Thanks TMG/irlmin, I will be investigating it over the next few days. Kerryminigringo, they probably couldn't see it under all the dust! Got it loaded up and moved yesterday evening. There wasn't time for freeing up whatever is seized, so three of us pushed it onto a trailer with my 12 year old neph...

Help - no drive

I have to move my 1275GT out of where it is stored tomorrow evening, due to a break in at the yard where it is stored, when another car was badly damaged. I got it running today without any great problem, but the clutch pedal seems to be seized solid. All gears can be selected with the engine runnin...

Best of luck with the Cooper, if you really want to go the 997 route try the Mini Cooper Register but I think they are as rare as hens teeth these days. You could also have a look on http://www.specialistminiforums where they have an early mini forum for cars built between 59 and 69
