I was driving home last night when the bonnet came flying off and went over me and almost hit the person behind me. I have those quick release pins and the normal catch so when the catch went it just ripped the pins out of the plate they were mounted to. the bonnet is recked so i am using the green ...

Thanks for the help. I have not done any tunning to the engine and the dizzy is made by aldon. Does anyone no of a mini friendly rolling road in cork that i could take it to.

engine wont stop

i recently put in a new 1380 and it runs fine until i turn off the key then it cotinues to run very badly then fires up again before turning off. this does not look or sound to cool. i think it might be the carb that is the problem as that came off my brothers cooper and he somtimes had the same pro...

yes i was thinking the engine would have had somthing to do with it thanks and yes the mini has 13X7 revos on it so that probably didnt help

horible noise

my mini has started to make a horible grinding noise from the passenger side hub and it is harder to turn than normal i have taken the breake pads out to check if there was any stones behind them and they are fine so i think it must be the bearing is this the right thing to think or not

the milage is up so i am just waitng for the new needle to come then i will think about putting on a twin carb befor the brakes get renewed.

i dont no the cr or the cam but the needle is from my brothers crashed cooper (along with the carb) it says BBZ on it and it is really rich at the moment and by rich i mean 12mpg rich :!: and the dizzy is an aidon performance one. i went to the garage the next day and he said that it was a bit of ba...

drove it to school to day and its not great as it is backfiring and making really loud cracking bang sort of noice so i took it back to the garage that did the timing and they will look at it tomuro so its back to the polo :(

i ment 3000rpm but i cant do that till next week as i am going to england 2muro but i drive 50 miles a day going to school and back so it wont take to long but the bit of driving that i have done so far is great it has so much power :D

thanks for your advise but we spoke to our local mini expert and he told us that new engines dont normaly come with the dizy drive and that they will come out of the old one and go in to the new one without dismanteling the thing so we did that and it now works i will take it to my local garage 2mur...

because the old engine had a lot of running problems and the electronic ignition is the only thing that did not get changed on that so as the new one came with somthing eles i thort i would change it now

yes that is what i spent the afternoon doing so i hope it will just drop straight in there 2muro and back on the road on thursday

does anyone no how to convert electronic ignition back to points as thats what the new dizy has

i finally found a engine hoist so it is now out. Not without a struggle, to start with the passengers side drive shaft would not come out for about 2 hours, then i found the hoist that i had borrowed had a dodgey O ring, so it would not hold the engine. I had to use a jack and a long bit of wood to ...

the floor is not that bad. the door drops by an inch wen you open it and the gap at the top front is a bit bigger than it was before. and all the suspention and stering is bent.

this is my brothers 91 cooper he had a little accident. He had a choice if hitting a lorry or the side of the bridge as it was not wide enuf for the 2 of them. he has cut most of the front off as it was recked its a good excuse for a carbonfiber flip front though. he will also need to get a new subf...
