Hi MAC, What you are describing is exactly what happened to my 1980 Austin HL auto, I did everything to get her sorted with no joy, oil changes didnt make any difference, a leak I got sorted made no difference... - I'm sorry to say it but Your gearbox seems to be on the way out - parts for auto gear...

I just have a word of warning for Mini owners, if you are getting a respray PLEASE make sure you have a club member recommend someone, I have my car back 3 months now, it was been resprayed by a "mini expert", the respray took 8 weeks, panels that had been said to be replaced are now rusti...

Hi 66mini, I have the smootha ride kit fitted, Minisport.com do 2 types (sportpack and non sportpack), the suspension is fully adjustable, and the ride is alot smoother, its great, you need a special compression tool if you fit it yourself, I can recommend a good mini expert besed in the SE if neede...

Hiberinan also insure older cars, my Austin will be 28 in November, I am insured on it as a daily driver, you get free breakdown cover too, something I have never had to use. :D

Hi womble,

I now use O'Learys in Ballingcollic in Cork, I travel from waterford, you would have 25 miles less to go then me. I can highly recommend this garage.
